Blockchain-Based Security Configuration Management for ICT Systems

نویسندگان

چکیده

The world has become increasingly dependent on large-scale and distributed information communication technology (ICT) infrastructures systems in sectors such as energy, transport, banking, healthcare, water supply, digital services, while their protection is considered of paramount importance already drawn remarkable attention from governments key industry players. Establishing common approaches by leveraging existing frameworks cyber security practices for improving the postures those one major objectives ensuring an adequate level avoiding detrimental effects disruptions society citizens. Configuration management (CM) establishing maintaining integrity consistency a system its elements with regard to function, performance, status technical physical attributes, it contributes desirable posture throughout lifecycle system. This study addresses CM, considering corresponding frameworks, standards, best practices, proposes permissioned blockchain-based approach, that inherits benefits blockchain ensures systems’ configuration across complete products services underlying model mapping integrating CM functions. Furthermore, this briefly presents challenges application models smart-contract-based role-based access control mechanism, addition presenting operating concept based brief but real-life requirements organizational management.

Virtual Resources & Blockchain for Configuration Management in IoT

Until now, most systems for Internet of Things (IoT) management, have been designed in a Cloud-centric manner, getting benefits from the unified platform that the Cloud offers. However, a Cloud-centric infrastructure mainly achieves static sensor and data streaming systems, which do not support the direct configuration management of IoT components. To address this issue, a virtualization of IoT...

Configuration Management for Component-based Systems

One of the basic problems when developing component-based systems is that it is difficult to keep track of components and their interrelationships. This problem emerges already in the requirement phase, in which we want to identify and select the most appropriate components. Later, during the assembly and deployment process, or when upgrading components, the problem of components identification...

Configuration Management for Web-based Instructional Systems

The design of web-based instructional systems is largely conducted on an intuitive, ad hoc basis, thus resulting in inefficient systems that do not capitalise on the strengths of networked technologies. Among these strengths, one could mention: multiple media delivery formats, synchronous and asynchronous communication and relaxation of constraints in place and time of instructional delivery. M...

Security for Automated, Distributed Configuration Management

Installation, configuration, and administration of desktop software is a non-trivial process. Even a simple application can have numerous dependencies on hardware, device drivers, operating system versions, dynamically linked libraries, and even on other applications. These dependencies can cause surprising failures during the normal process of installations, updates and re-configurations. Diag...
